JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

It's so difficult in this age of technology and the constant pressures of comparing yourself to the person next to you, whether that's in a coffee shop, a club or on Instagram, we all do it. I am horrendously guilty of doing it. We all believe there's something that we can work on, to improve ourselves, to make the way the world see us, that little bit better and that little bit brighter. But sometimes I think we need to stop, to think and to analyse why, why in a world of such wonder and great things, we are all so insecure. I recently watched an interview with the fantastic Caroline de Maigret where she states 'perfection does not exist', she also brings this to the attention of the reader in a book I have recently read called How to be Parisian Wherever You Are (an absolutely wonderful read, highly recommended) and I think this is unbelievably true. We strive for this thing called "perfection" but what does this really mean? Once we reach what we think will make us experience this perfection we are not satisfied, so we strive for something more - this has got to be exhausting.

Let's take a minute to look at life through the eyes of the Parisienne. Lets imagine a world in which the word and idea of perfection doesn't exist but is replaced by ambition, motivation and passion. Phew, that's a weight off of my shoulders just writing it so imagine the possibilities if we put this theory into practice. Now, I am not saying for one moment that we shouldn't do the best we can or to care deeply for things that matter to us, but I am saying that we kick the word "perfection" and replace it with "uplifting" and to stop comparing ourselves to everybody else and start building each other up instead of knocking each other down.

Just something to think about.
